Claire, I also grew up in the Catholic faith, though would now class myself as an agnostic. I'm sure there is something, but if God is anything, I believe it's far more secular / spiritual so these musings on the cards really resonate with me. I do love ritual, folklore and traidtion, too. Kind of crave the peace of church even though I wouldn't really visit one now. Maybe there are rituals around the cards that we could employ?
I'm actually Buddhist now. Lots of things I write are through this lens although I tend not to talk about it much as the minute I label it, I find it hard to write about. As for rituals you can get as creative as you like. How about taking a card that makes you feel good to a quiet place as part of your writing ritual. The woods, a church graveyard, an old library, the sea. Thanks for reading this too!!!
